German Rosinenbrot


Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
3 tsp active dry yeast or 2 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk - slightly warmed
5 Tbsp soft butter
1 egg
1/2 cup raisins
1 egg yolk
1 tsp milk


Instructions:
  • Pre-heat your oven to 350F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Warm the milk in a pot on the stove until luke warm. Add in the active dry yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes to activate.
  • In a large stainless steel bowl mix together the flour, sugar, and salt. If using instant yeast simply mix it into the flour and skip the above step.
